Not only because they were one of my favorite clients for a couple of years, it is also because I still love the products and the retail concept in general. The only thing missing was a store more close to me. Last week the brand started a new chapter in Germany. Property Of.. opened the doors for a new store in Hamburg. It is located on the lively Poststrasse just outside the Hanse Viertel and the interior still reflects the old cafe style that you are used to in a new jacket. The new jacket adds an extra spark and makes it a varicoloured, inviting and inventive place.The special retail concept of Property Of… is that you can enjoy a freshly made cup of coffee to drink while shopping around or take a seat on the bar counter while socialising. The coffee that is served by welcoming staff comes from a local organic coffee roaster. While this service is completely free of charge, guests are invited to donate money to Hamburger Tafel, a local Hamburg charity that gives food to the homeless.

A brief history about the brand

Property Of… was founded in 2006 by two designers Peter Teo & Richard Chamberlain. Having met whilst studying together in London and worked in New York, a fine bags and accessories brand was thus born.

Their goal was to provide an alternative to the classic full leather briefcase. Drawing inspirations from Asian cultures & Western traditions, they combine the best of both worlds with a clean & timeless aesthetic, targeting at men & women with contemporary urban lifestyles.The name Property Of… was selected as an understated and non-label label, as a way to simply refer to the unique identity of each bag’s owner. Through its use of our signature leather ID tags, labeling is functional and present while remaining understated. A consistent focus of Property Of… is making timeless and functional products. Waxed canvas, denims, heavy duty nylons are just some of the materials used. Leather details, customizable ID tags and sturdy hardware complete the Property Of… look.

The official Store opening took place last wednesday and a lot of good old friends and publishers took the chance to take a glimpse…

Hamburg City was always on of my big Loves in the German Landscape. The new collective space FORMSCHOEN is very good reason to put this northern light once more on the map. The Hamburg based Fashion Designer Sarah Bürger founded a very beautiful space for building up a new creative concept with main focus on the fashion manufacturing industry.

The FORMSCHOEN as a collective co-working space is all about bringing designers and people working in the industry together. In the end it results all into a symbiosis of creative people enriching each other in their working process. A photographer, for example, needs the clothes for his/her production, whereas the fashion designer depends on the photographer to put every dress in the right spotted scenario. All people involved in such productions, also graphic designers or filmmakers, find at FORMSCHOENS a spacious platform to work together.The 210 square meter fabric building provides working space with lots of light, high ceilings and communal areas.

The Facilities are equipped with industrial sewing machines and iron facilities, as well as two large cutting tables. If you want to use them you can benefit from one of three flat rates and thus flexible working on own projects, you are involved in a community. The team of FORMSCHOEN consist out of young designers next to fashion lecturers and amateur sewers. The exchange and networking between these passionate people is a great asset for this concept and often gives constructive exchanging feedback.

„Space is the place“ and wherever there is much room ideas can emerge. Here is light and space, 7m high ceilings and turn of the century architecture are contributing to its special charm. The space can also be used for events or workshops. Last but not least FORMSCHOEN also offers a Co-Working Office space with a nice view.The shared-office sector has seen growth in recent years and that swell is only going to continue once more in this beautiful surrounding of young creatives in Hamburg.
